“The world revolves around unities, as well as diversity, it households divers unities in divers cities.”
DIVERCITY is a short film about those aspects, represented by a small neighborhood, San Andrés, located in Barcelona. It captures the diversity of a unity living and working around the Canodrom, the center point. It focuses on it being the one who generates the dialogue between the surroundings of the direct environment. Moreover, it tells a story about the (in)visible differences between them narrated from the main characters point of view, which are several places/locations
in the direct environment of the Canodrom. All very different as a whole, but positioned and understood as neighbors and co-workers of the environment. It showcases the fine line between reality on the one hand and surrealism on the other. The contrast between the everyday reality and the surrealism that goes with it gets highlighted. Thereby, other than in reality where mostly people tell the story, the spaces are the ones who talk. Sometimes a place doesn’t need to be far away from your close environment to make you delusional and dream about others, sometimes only in one street, you can find a whole bunch of diversity, if you only let the space speak and listen to it closely.
